The project comes in the form of an experiment laboratory and an observatory artificial nature where the artists involved will have to face the difficult task of interacting with the artist’s previous work and with a constantly changing landscape.
A first draft of the project and ‘exposed to the 3D Gallery from 1 June to 30 October 2007.
Editors: Laura Aliprandi, Sara Sist, Daniela Santellani, Andrea Penzo.
ARTISTS OF THE FIRST DRAWING: FABIO BORDONE, ADOLFINA DE STEFANI, GUGLIELMO DI MAURO, ELISABETTA above, ANTONELLO MANTOVANI, DANIELA MANZOLLI, LISA MASOLA, ANDREA Penza, ARISTIDE Rogato, OSVALDO Rogato, ANNA TAGLIAPIETRA, CLAUDIA VANNI, ALESSIA VIANELLO.
From June 1 to October 31, the 3D is proposed as an area of experimentation and phenomenological analysis of the processes of change in a microcosm invented for the occasion and set up in the gallery of Mestre.
This is a laboratory in the course of 5 months produces 4 events. The project ‘a work in progress that has so far involved thirteen artists, where the space of the gallery and’ transformed into a place of observation and reflection on the controversial issue of the damage done by nature.
“New Still Life” wants to propose a public observatory on changes in the earth and its life cycle and climate, a reflection on the state’s emergency response capacity and the nature ‘of man to react to all this. The phrase ‘still life “is generally the pictorial representation of inanimate objects and part from a” static “in nature that the artist plays exactly how their eyes see. The “new still life”, however, assume different connotations of study, analysis, experimental-dialogical intervening directly on the very nature with the aim of giving a new shape.
The project takes its cue from an idea by Andrea Penzo, protagonist of the first event, and ‘acted as a “creator” of the microcosm that installed inside the tunnel a semi-natural environment that will be’ subject to change and not induced .
The artists who have spoken are then forced to adapt their work to the previous year. Being in front of a microcosm gia ‘existing are entirely free to decide what action to affix but bound together by the’ order “or” disorder “dell’inaspettato scenario so trying ‘to conduct the dialogue initiated by Penzo. What will happen ‘? Will be able to reconstruct the artists, preserve or destroy its individual life cycle? With this background it seems a real game-bet.
The environment so ‘conceived becomes a public observatory, where everyone helps to performance artists during the installation at the time of processing cycles.
The objective of the project and ‘interest in a scenario of artificial mutation that tries to read the reports linking the elements, or features that allow communication between art and nature, between acting and suffering, between artist and viewer.
The artists will be joined by artist-reporters who have the task of documenting the workshops.
